A premier private credit fund with $3 billion in assets under management (AUM) and an evergreen fund structure is seeking a Senior VP / Principal to lead direct lending origination in the technology sector. This role offers a unique opportunity to drive deal flow, cultivate key relationships, and contribute to the firm’s strategic growth in a dynamic, high-performance environment.

Position Overview:

The Senior VP / Principal will be responsible for sourcing and executing direct lending opportunities in the technology sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in private credit, a proven track record in deal origination and execution, and a deep network within technology and software. This position provides direct access to senior decision-makers and offers the potential to build and lead a team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Origination: Identify and develop direct lending opportunities within the technology sector, leveraging industry relationships and market insights.
• Structuring & Execution: Lead deal structuring, negotiation, and execution to optimize risk-adjusted returns.
• Market Intelligence: Track industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive dynamics to inform investment strategy.
• Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with technology founders, venture capital firms, and financial sponsors.
• Leadership & Strategy: Mentor junior team members, contribute to firm-wide strategic initiatives, and support fundraising and investor relations.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., CFA, MBA) are a plus.
• Experience: 5+ years in private credit, direct lending, or leveraged finance, with a strong track record in technology sector deal origination.
• Skills: Exceptional financial structuring, underwriting, and negotiation skills. Proven ability to source and close transactions.
• Network: Established relationships within the technology ecosystem, including venture capitalists, founders, and sponsors.
• Location: Based in or willing to relocate to San Diego or San Francisco.
