    Job Details
  • A main Med Center in Eastern Nebraska is looking for PCU RN's.
  • 13 Week contract, 36 hours.
    Job Requirements
  • BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS are required.
  • If they hang chemo they need to be chemo certified but not required to work the floor.
  • Other needed competencies: Ventilator, other hemodynamic monitoring (CVP, Aline, Swan, EV-1000), ICP- all can train real time.
    Schedule Information
  • Shifts: 12 hour.
  • Shift times: 7a-7p, 7a-3p, 3p-7p, 7p-11p, 11p-7a, 7p-7a.
  • Weekend requirements: Every third weekend.
  • Self schedule.
  • RN Ratio (Days): 1 RN to 4 PCU, 1 to 5 M/S
  • RN Ratio (Nights): 1 RN to 5-6 patients
    Unit Specific Information
  • Unit: 6 East.
  • Level of care: PCU and MedSurg.
  • Number of beds: 27.
  • Patient population: Adults.
  • Common Drips/Medications: chemotherapy, heparin, cardizem, protonix.
  • Charge nurse: Yes.
  • Additional unit support staff: PT/OT, RN case manager, social work, educator, dietician.
  • Float: Yes, same level of care.
  • Patient Experience challenges/focus: hourly rounding.
  • Qualities for hires: Teamwork, genuine need to care for patients, adaptability to cultural diversity and different religious beliefs.
