POSITION DESCRIPTION HGL is currently seeking a talented, highly motivated candidate to join our team in either Reston, VA or Philadelphia, PA. This position offers the chance to apply your knowledge to manage a wide range of technical projects working with a team of environmental professionals who are passionate about advancing sustainable cleanup of contaminated sites nationwide. The candidate will work with our experienced site investigation and environmental remediation personnel supporting HGL's portfolio of environmental projects for the USEPA, US Army Corps of Engineers, US Air Force, NASA, and various agencies across the United States and territories. Projects may include remedial investigation and design support, oversight of remedial actions, in situ thermal treatment, demolition, removals, and soil and groundwater remediation projects.
Responsibilities/DutiesWHAT YOU'LL BE DOING The person hired for this role will be responsible for:
- Management of technical and administrative aspects of CERCLA or RCRA equivalent phases of environmental restoration projects.
- Meeting project scope, schedule, budget requirements.
- Directing, managing, and leading project teams to meet project objectives in-line with corporate and customer quality expectations.
- Communicating effectively with clients, regulators, project team members, and company management.
- Effectively manage project risks and develop mitigation approaches and strategies.
Required SkillsWHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL The ideal candidate will need the following as a foundation for success in this role:
- Minimum 7 years of experience executing and managing investigation and remediation projects under CERCLA and RCRA.
- BA/BS in Engineering, Science, or a related academic field. (MA/MS in a related field may decrease the years of experience required).
- Excellent time management and organization skills, including the ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize and keep organized to ensure timely and accurate work.
- Ability to build consensus among leadership, internal, and external stakeholders through effective interpersonal communication and relationship building skills.
WHAT YOU NEED TO STAND OUT - Preferred, not required- PE, PG, and/or PMP certifications.
- Experience with managing PFAS investigations.
- Experience with managing projects for USEPA and USACE.
- Experience with high resolution site characterization (HRSC).
- Experience with remedial technologies and approaches.
