We have an exciting opportunity for a Director - Sales (SMB – East) to join our team. In this role, you are in the driver’s seat! You take a hands-on approach to supporting and motivating a large team of Sales professionals committed to drive growth in Ontario. Your primary customers are small businesses that range from 1-30 employees and your team will be selling our fully integrated set of products. You are a well-rounded sales leader with the expertise to manage multiple mass market sales approaches including inside sales, virtual sales, and field sales. Whether at the office or on the road with your Sales team, your leadership and organizational skills allow you to quickly pivot between sales coaching conversations, customer interactions and internal strategy discussions. You are motivated by numbers and you understand the story behind KPIs, sales activity and funnel management. You know when to celebrate successes and wins with your team and when to provide detailed coaching to build and maintain the momentum in the field.
Qualifications You’re the missing piece of the puzzle
You have an impressive people leadership track record with proven ability to build, develop, and lead high performing sales teams in a fast-paced environment.
You are well-versed with various sales methodologies and coaching/training platforms.
You are an expert in driving and tracking sales performance through activity and funnel management.
You can confidently lead regular monthly and quarterly business reviews and weekly/monthly forecast activities.
You are resilient and open to learning new skills by constantly observing, being curious and asking questions.
Demonstrated results within a matrixed organization comes naturally to you.
You are known for having strong business acumen and a proven ability to synthesize business results into actionable insights.
Telecommunications expertise and wireless experience is a strong asset.
B2B/Small Business Sales experience would be an asset.
Your Knowledge Toolkit also consists of
University Degree.
5-10 years of relevant people leadership experience.
Experience with Salesforce.com or other CRM systems.

Competitive pay and benefits.
Salary Range: $130,000-$194,000
Performance Bonus or Sales Incentive Plan: $80,000-120,000
Actual total compensation will be determined based on factors such as knowledge, skills, performance and experience. In addition, TELUS offers rewarding benefits, which may vary per job function, such as:
