Measure and mark reference points and fix work pieces, position and fasten cutting tools, and adjust machine trowels using basic hand tools and specialty equipment. Coordinates with operations to preset tools as well as manage tooling inventory and fixtures. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned as required): • Assemble and tear down of tooling such as end mills and drills.• Prepare necessary tooling to ensure CNC uptime and maintain supermarket for additional tooling• Pre-setting of tools using a Pre-setter and utilization of balancer• Maintain fixture locations, tooling cabinets and shadow boards• Maintain & distribute tooling carts as necessary• Utilize Kanban to reorder tooling as needed and follow up with supply chain as needed.• Maintain Quality standards and Objectives• Support 5S and other Lean Manufacturing initiatives • Trains and instructs other employees as directed• Other duties as assigned. Qualifications • This position requires a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and adherence to the attendance policy.• Capable of inspecting, mounting, aligning, and securing tools for CNC production • Capable of utilizing pre-setter and balancer.• Ability to maintain fixture locations and back up tooling• Experience with inventory, Kanban, and min/max systems• Previous experience with measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and other measurement devices• Experience with 5S/Lean manufacturing methodologies Education and/or Experience • Basic computer skills required,• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent• Must be able to read/speak English to understand instructions• Basic knowledge of electro/mechanical principles is preferred• Knowledge of tool room surface grinder a plus• Requires good eye/hand coordination and the ability to operate hand and power tools• Ability to read, write and interpret documents such as safety rules and operating instruction• Requires strong attention to detail, safety consciousness and concern for quality work Language Skills Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
