About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager/Estimator to join a dynamic and growing team in Guelph, ON. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in managing and estimating projects across Industrial, Commercial, Institutional (ICI), Residential, and Civil sectors . This role is perfect for someone with a deep understanding of the local market and sub-trades, who thrives in a fast-paced environment and requires minimal supervision to deliver excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Management:
- Lead and oversee multiple construction projects from initiation to completion.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
- Coordinate with clients, sub-trades, and internal teams to ensure successful project delivery.
- Monitor project progress and resolve any issues that arise promptly.
- Estimating:
- Prepare accurate cost estimates, including labor, materials, and equipment.
- Analyze project drawings, specifications, and related documents to determine costs.
- Identify and negotiate with sub-trades and suppliers to secure competitive pricing.
- Provide value engineering options to optimize project budgets and schedules.
- Collaboration & Leadership:
- Build strong relationships with local sub-trades and suppliers.
- Foster a collaborative work environment with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure adherence to safety regulations, quality standards, and company policies.
- Strategic Growth:
- Actively contribute to the company’s growth platform by identifying opportunities for improvement and expansion.
- Support and mentor junior staff as part of our professional development initiative.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Project Management and Cost Estimation within the construction industry in Canada.
- Proven track record of managing projects in ICI, Residential, and Civil sectors .
- Strong knowledge of local sub-trades, suppliers, and market conditions in the Guelph area.
- Proficient in construction management software and cost estimating tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work autonomously.
- Strong organizational, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
