Title:nnMetrology Technician IIInnBelong, Connect, Grow, with KBR!nnProgram SummarynnKBR Metrology supports Honeywell Aerospace, Otto Instruments, Garrett Advance Motion, and their suppliers with services including onsite/offsite laboratory visits, test equipment calibration and repair, AMS2750 pyrometry services, metrology engineering, and equipment inspection. They also offer preventative maintenance, equipment sourcing, CMM inspections, automation and programming, measurement technical support, calibration recall system management, and performance tracking dashboards.nnJob SummarynnThis is a Swing Shift position. Metrology Technician III will provide day to day support for the Metrology Program Calibrating IMTE and guiding workflow with other technicians. Technician will be inspecting fixtures and tooling using CMM.nnRoles and ResponsibilitiesnnSwing Shift Position- 2PM-10:30PMnnResponsible for the calibration and certifying of physical/dimensional measuring and test equipment to technical specifications, maintaining traceability to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).nnPerforms calibration/repairs on equipment.nnConducts uncertainty analysis, develops procedures, and ensures documentation conforms to Quality Systems requirements.nnPerforms complex configuration and tests of equipment according to instructions, blueprints, schematic sketches and/or prescribed testing procedures.nnUses all hand tools and sets up and uses standard machine tools. Uses common laboratory measuring, calibrating, and test equipment.nnResolves group and customer issues, seeks to improve the overall productivity of the department, anticipates problems and initiates appropriate actions to eliminate them.nnProficient at understanding and writing reports and work instructions and assists customers to define technical requirements to meet their objective.nnPerforms complex maintenance and repair work on equipment; inspects defective electronic equipment to determine malfunction; reads and interprets schematic diagrams, logic charts, drawings and sketches and manufacturers manuals; uses computer diagnostics to isolate area of malfunction; interfaces digital equipment with the computer and programs equipment and diagnostics functions.nnProvides advanced technical/electronic and instrumentation equipment repair work, troubleshooting, modifying, testing, calibrating, adjusting, repairing, and installing electronic, digital and analog equipment and monitoring devices.nnInteracts effectively with others to produce the desired results.nnParticipates constructively in the utilization of process improvement methods to provide timely, cost-effective, quality services.nnPerforms routine operational tests to assure the modification produces desired outputs; evaluates environments in which equipment is to be installed and how electronic equipment will be affected.nnMaintains records of test data and assists in writing test procedures and test evaluation reports.nnServes as lead resource to others in the resolution of complex problems and issues.nnMay orient, train, assign and check the work of lower level employees.nnProvides activity and status reports to management.nnPerforms all other duties as assigned.nnBasic Qualifications (Required Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications)nnHigh school diploma with 6+ years experience in the field, OR Associates degree in engineering technology or other relevant field and 4 years experience.
