Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Purchasing Assistant to join our client’s Purchasing Department in the Sarasota, FL area!


As one of the largest homebuilders in the U.S., our client offers an exciting opportunity to grow with a leading company in the homebuilding industry. This entry-level role provides an opportunity to gain experience in purchasing, procurement, and vendor management, while supporting a dynamic team and getting your foot in the door with a winning, reputable homebuilder.


The ideal candidate will have six months to one year of related experience and/or training, or relevant internship experience in a purchasing, administrative, or procurement-related role.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain vendor packets and qualifications to ensure up-to-date records
  • Request pricing and load price changes into systems
  • Revise and update feature lists for projects
  • Update and maintain project vendor lists to ensure accuracy
  • Price and distribute design changes to relevant teams
  • Ensure that all plans are current and stocked
  • Prepare new project product binders to streamline processes
  • Keep the office organized and manage administrative tasks
  • Coordinate paperwork for vendors, including purchase orders, change orders, and notices to proceed
  • Create and maintain contract files and ensure they are properly organized
  • Research and resolve any invoice or purchase order issues
  • Assist in preparing bid packages for projects


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • At least six months to one year of related experience and/or training in a purchasing or administrative role
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment
