Human Resource Director
The Human Resource Director is responsible for the delivery of all human resources programs and functions including employee experience, organizational development, compensation, benefits, recruiting, retention, performance management, learning and development with a lens on an overall positive employee culture. Responsible for creating the company wide people strategy which requires the desire and ability to be an influential and credible senior HR leader within the team, including setting the tone, agenda, and direction of HR. You will coach leaders and employees to improve communication practices to achieve a culture based on trust, empowerment, inclusion, and collaboration. The HR Director will have direct reports and reports to the General Counsel.
Responsibilities:
Human Resources Management:
- Manages the daily HR function for Corporate, and assists in supporting all locations
- Partners with employees and management to communicate organizational and Human Resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, and government regulations. Provides policy guidance and interpretation.
- Ensures headcount is within plan, compensation is competitive, and serve as a consultant to executives regarding labor law issues and strategic initiatives
- Provides information as needed in response to inquiries regarding HR policies, benefits, pre-employment screening, employment verification
- Responsible for superior Onboarding and Offboarding activities
- Understands and ensures compliance with federal, state, company and business unit requirements, policies
- Conduct investigations, when necessary, to resolve employee relations issues and partner with counsel to resolve all matters in a timely manner with limited exposure to the company
- Assists with Company Culture
- Drives and supports Performance Management and Compensation cycles
Other duties and responsibilities:
- HR systems user – HRIS, Talent Acquisition, Benefits, Employee Share Program, Recognition & Awards programs
- Background check and Onboarding systems super user
- Helps to maintain personnel files in compliance with applicable legal requirements
- Participates on internal and external HR audits to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures
- Occasionally participates in Special Projects as a team member
Organizational Development and Training:
- Small group facilitation for work-life teams, round tables, and check-ins
- Coaching employees and leader conflict resolution
- Group problem-solving skill development/training
- Support employees’ development plan creation and execution
- Management training platform super user
- Business training facilitator for specific Company policies
Required Qualifications
- BA/BS in related field
- Minimum of 8+ years of progressive experience in Human Resources. SHRM or PHR certification preferred
- Evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality
- Strong proficiency with MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Service and customer oriented
- Must have excellent written/verbal skills
- Ability to working in a fast paced, multitasking environment
- Construction, Manufacturing or Large Legal Firm background preferred
- Entrepreneurial Spirit
- Knowledge in current and relevant HR legislation (FLSA, FMLA, ADA)
- Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent organization, time management, and follow-up skills while exhibiting a high sense of urgency
