Senior Network Engineer
12+ Month Contract

My client is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Network Engineer to support our enterprise network environment. The successful candidate will focus on completing IOS upgrades for Cisco network devices, including Cisco Catalyst 9500, 9200, 2960, and 3850 series switches on the edge of our network. This role ensures a stable, secure, and optimized network infrastructure critical for delivering reliable financial services.
Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, and execute IOS upgrades for Cisco switches across the enterprise environment.
- Perform pre-upgrade and post-upgrade testing to ensure minimal downtime and service continuity.
- Review and validate device configurations to ensure compliance with security and performance standards.
- Backup and restore configurations as needed during the upgrade process.
- Maintain detailed records of upgrade activities, including device inventory, firmware versions, and change management logs.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of Cisco Catalyst switches, including 9500, 9200, 2960, and 3850 series.
- Proficiency in IOS upgrade procedures and Cisco command-line interface (CLI).
- Familiarity with network protocols such as TCP/IP, OSPF, EIGRP, VLANs, and STP.
- Experience with network monitoring and management tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Cisco Prime, or DNA Center).
