Job Title: Packaging Engineer
Job Description: We are seeking a highly motivated Packaging Equipment Engineer to join our team. This position involves supporting senior staff in the initiation, design, and delivery of projects, particularly for Packaging Equipment Commissioning & Qualification (C&Q), Characterization, and Validation. The ideal candidate will employ basic engineering skills and practices to gather user requirements and translate them into technical documentation for execution by third-party firms. Additionally, the candidate will assist with project definition by performing engineering studies and assessments for Packaging Systems installations and perform field evaluations of existing systems to provide engineering design recommendations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Packaging Equipment characterization activities and the introduction of new packing lines to commercialization.
- Perform engineering studies and assessments for Packaging Systems installations.
- Gather user requirements and translate them into technical documentation.
- Perform field evaluations of existing systems and provide engineering design recommendations.
- Work primarily on the manufacturing floor, supporting the manufacturing line.
Working Hours: This position should not exceed 40 hours a week, but some overtime may be needed occasionally. Flexibility in working hours is required as per project execution needs. Extended, second, and third shifts will be required as per project execution time needs. The primary shift hours will be 8 AM - 5 PM ET for 60% of the time, with the remaining 40% off regular hours for 2nd or 3rd shift, Monday-Friday (2nd shift: 2 PM - 10 PM, 3rd shift: 10 PM - 6 AM). Occasional weekend shifts may be required, with candidates able to volunteer for weekend shifts. 10% travel may be required.
Ideal Candidate:
- 2+ years of Pharmaceutical Packaging working experience.
- Knowledge of data analysis, CGMP documentation, and Packaging Equipment Validation.
- Experience working in a CGMP company.
- Strong leadership skills, flexibility, and the ability to work in teams.
- Motivation, ability to work with minimum supervision, and excellent communication skills with different levels of the organization.
- Process-driven with a continuous improvement mindset.
Basic Qualifications: Master’s degree OR Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of experience OR Associate’s degree and 6 years of experience OR High school diploma/GED and 8 years of experience.
