Job Title: Test Engineer


Job Description: We are seeking a highly motivated Test Engineer with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, Industrial, Biomedical, or Human Factors Engineering, Human Computing Interaction, or Human-Centered Design Engineering. The Test Engineer will be responsible for cross-carline benchmarking to provide recommendations for standardizing parts and logic to global teams, target setting for Infotainment and Connected Car features, and testing to confirm customer acceptance of these systems. Understanding US customer requirements from a holistic vehicle ownership experience is crucial.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct statistical analysis and significance testing of the client and third-party customer data.
  • Support design and test engineering with data collection and results analysis.
  • Present project updates and summary reports within design and test engineering teams.


Job Knowledge and Skills:

  • Self-motivated and effective communicator with a strong interest in emerging technologies.
  • Ability to create and deliver presentations to push new ideas through the company.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Excel and able to learn new formulas.
  • Experience with Python/Visual Basic or similar programming language is a plus.
  • Interest in data analysis is mandatory to ensure the voice of the customer is considered for decision-making.


Education:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, Industrial, Biomedical, or Human Factors Engineering, Human Computing Interaction, or Human-Centered Design Engineering.


Travel Required:

  • Ability to travel to Japan up to 1-2 times per year and to regional sites (FH, TN, Canada, Mexico) 4-5 times per year.
  • Late-night calls with Japan once or twice per week, usually around 5-6 pm.
  • Onsite work 3 days per week (typically T-W-TH), with flexibility required to get the job done.
  • Willingness to relocate the right candidate.
  • Travel will be less at first and could increase depending on how quickly the candidate picks up.

  • This group works to develop new technology from a customer point of view, ensuring clear customer benefits through research.
  • Research experience is important, whether from school or work.
  • For the interview, there will be a challenge question based on real-world scenarios to assess the candidate's approach and results.
  • The role is more research-based, but candidates with experience in VB and Python will be given preference.
