ESC has an existing direct hire opportunity for a Master Material Planner to join our Computer business team. In this role, you will oversee and optimize material planning processes, ensuring the timely availability of materials to support production schedules and meet customer demand. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in supply chain management, strong analytical abilities, and a deep understanding of materials planning within the electronics or computer industry . This position offers a hybrid 1st shift schedule, Monday - Friday, based in Waukesha, WI.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Material Planning and Scheduling:
- Develop and execute master production schedules (MPS) to align with customer demand and production capacity.
- Plan, monitor, and control material requirements using MRP/ERP systems to ensure on time availability.
- Analyze demand trends, material usage, and production schedules.
- Inventory Strategy and Management:
- Develop and align inventory strategy with the products we sell and the turnaround time necessary for those products in the market.
- Ensure all products and their items are fulfilled according to inventory strategy.
- Optimize inventory levels to balance cost and availability while mitigating risks of obsolescence.
- Conduct regular analysis of inventory to manage slow-moving, obsolete, or excess stock efficiently.
- Ongoing communication to the business of inventory analysis and the state of the current strategy including what is working and what needs improvement.
- Supplier Coordination:
- Collaborate with procurement teams to maintain strong supplier relationships and secure timely delivery of materials.
- Establish and share demand trends and forecast with suppliers to improve lead times.
- Monitor supplier performance and address issues impacting material availability.
- Demand and Capacity Alignment:
- Collaborate with key stakeholders on driving our Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process.
- Identify and resolve constraints to ensure seamless production flow.
- KPIs and Metrics:
- Define and continuously report on KPIs key to successful planning in the areas of orders, materials, and jobs.
- Establish how the KPIs are trending and use this information to focus continuous improvement efforts.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to enhance material planning processes, reduce lead times, and improve supply chain efficiency.
- Implement best practices in materials management, leveraging advanced tools and techniques.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Act as a liaison between production, procurement, logistics, and other departments to resolve material-related issues.
- Participate in new product introduction (NPI) processes to ensure material readiness.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in materials planning or supply chain management within the electronics/computer industry.
- Proficiency in Infor Syteline APS ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong analytical skills with a data-driven approach to problem-solving.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset to work effectively with teams and suppliers.
- Process- and detail-oriented with the ability to manage complex planning activities.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities effectively.
- Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to problem resolution.
Preferred:
- APICS certification (e.g., CPIM or CSCP) is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies is a plus.
