- Salary: $210,000 - $240,000 base, plus performance bonus and a strong benefits package

Role Description:
- Company is seeking an Associate General Counsel with primary focus on managing compliance and litigation matters and strategy. Reporting to Company’s General Counsel and working with the company’s leadership team and other senior legal team members, this position requires strong business and risk management capabilities and the ability to learn and understand the industry’s legal and risk landscape.
Professional and Personal Qualifications:
- Active license to practice law in a U.S. state required; 10+ years combined experience at a top tier law firm and as in-house counsel in a litigation, compliance and/or regulatory risk management role, preferably with travel industry and/or business-to-consumer ecommerce experience.
- Commercial litigation and regulatory/governmental inquiries and investigations experience, including managing and optimizing relationships with outside counsel, regulatory bodies and governmental agencies.
- Exceptional business acumen, comfortable advising with respect to challenging business decisions and providing strategic insight and practical yet creative solutions.
- Designing or improving risk-based compliance programs and initiatives, including the effective reporting of successes/failures. Ability to justify and explain areas of non-compliance and corrective action plans to leadership, internal stakeholders and 3rd party auditors.
- Ability to identify and analyze the root cause of non-compliance, including pro-active efforts to avoid non-compliance with solutions that appropriately weigh legal risk against business needs and realities.
- Action-oriented with an ability to navigate ambiguity and take initiative.
- Enthusiastic, dedicated, ability to thrive in lean team structure.
- Demonstrates strong communication skills at all levels within the organization. Ability to translate legal and compliance technicalities into actionable advice and plans as well as presentations to executives.
- A cross functional collaborator who encourages and builds consensus, easily gains trust and support of leadership and peers both in the legal team and across all departments of the company.
- A team-oriented professional with a strong work-ethic who multi-tasks and prioritizes well, takes initiative, is capable of leading projects and who can work effectively both independently and with other groups
