Job Summary:
The Construction Project Manager will play a key role in overseeing multiple projects simultaneously from inception to completion. This individual will manage contractors, consultants, and internal teams to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in people management, project oversight, and a proven ability to handle large-scale or complex construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all phases of construction projects, including planning, design, procurement, construction, and closeout.
- Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and consultants to drive project success.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders, providing updates and addressing concerns proactively.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and resolve any issues that arise during construction.
- Develop and manage project budgets, track expenses, and prepare financial reports.
- Lead and mentor project teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
- Review and negotiate contracts, change orders, and vendor agreements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in construction management, with a preference for experience in government or federal projects.
- Must be able to pass a federal background check.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Familiarity with construction software and tools such as Procore, Bluebeam, or similar platforms.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and permitting processes in Chicago.
