Position Summary:
Provide application engineering and sales support for flexible metal piping products (bellows, expansion joints, hoses) as sold into Aerospace and General Industry. Responsibilities shall include customer relationship development, developing engineered flexible piping solutions, cost estimation, proposal drafting, processing purchase orders, etc.
Essential Functions
- Develop relationships with customer and industry partners to drive new and recurring business.
- Communicate and consult with customers secure sales of the company's products and services.
- Review customer specifications, contractual requirements, and government flow-downs to ensure agreement and compliance.
- Design flexible metal product design in accordance with customer specifications and applicable codes to support customer sales process.
- Develop cost models for development and production of hardware.
- Developing formal proposals/quotations.
- Complete purchase order contract review and acceptance
- Work integrally with manufacturing engineering, production, purchasing, quality, and logistics personnel to ensure projects are completed on budget and on schedule.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Aerospace engineering, or similar.
- 5+ years’ experience in a mechanical design or sales engineering role.
Required Skills
- Must be proficient with computer aided modeling software (Solidworks or similar).
- Proficiency Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Excellent professional communication skills required (written and verbal).
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize with minimal supervision.
- Excellent mechanical aptitude and mechanical design capabilities
- Ability to apply engineering theory across industries/markets.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Finite Element Analysis
- Advanced skills in Excel, Python, or other coding language
- Familiarity with ERP or MRP systems (SAP or similar).
Work Environment
- Climate controlled office environment – 90%
- Enclosed metals fabrication shop (welding, heavy equipment) – 10%
Travel:
- Travel requirements are minimal.
