About the Role:

Our client, a leading organization in the financial services industry, is seeking a highly skilled Mid-Level Legal Counsel to join their legal team in New York. This is a generalist role with a primary focus on corporate, investment, management, and compliance law. The ideal candidate will bring a strong legal background from a top law firm, an exceptional academic track record, and a proactive approach to solving complex legal matters.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide legal counsel on corporate governance, investment structuring, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial and investment-related agreements.
• Support internal stakeholders on a broad range of corporate and transactional matters.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulatory frameworks, particularly in the financial and investment sectors.
• Assist with M&A transactions, financing arrangements, and strategic investments.
• Develop and implement company policies to mitigate legal risks.
• Liaise with external counsel and regulatory bodies as needed.

Requirements:

• 5-8 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) from a top-tier law firm or a mix of law firm and in-house experience.
• Strong academic credentials from a leading law school.
• Expertise in corporate, investment, management, and compliance law.
• Exposure to M&A and finance law is a strong plus.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
