Job Summary:
Functions as a technical support contact for all sales-related activity, including customer inquiries, as well as a resource/interface for design and manufacturing engineering. The engineer will create customer drawings, component drawings, and top assembly drawings. Will assist in training employees and understand manufacturing/production equipment/processes.
Job Description:
- Create drawings for custom-engineered solutions, targeted to unique customer applications, that best utilize EPI’s engineering and manufacturing capabilities.
- Review all technical customer requirements, bill of materials, testing, quality, etc.
- Assist engineering with change notifications (ECN) to prints.
- Actively reach out and communicate with customers to design in solutions that meet our customer’s cost and engineering requirements, traveling to visit customers as required
- Develop technical sales tools and technical marketing materials
Major Responsibilities/Activities
- Direct interaction with customers and sales/customer service personnel to determine the application requirements and most effective product design.
- Create designs that meets the customer’s technical, price, and timeline expectations.
- Assist engineering/operations with production drawings, component drawings, purchase specifications, and bills of material for new products.
- Assist in the transition of new projects to the manufacturing floor.
- Manufacturing/design support as required to support efficiency and quality goals.
- Participate in Trade Shows and customer facing activities/presentations
Minimum Requirements:
- Mechanical engineering degree preferred. An electrical or other engineering degree would be considered.
- High interest in designing effective solutions for customer requirements
- 5+ years in a manufacturing engineering environment. HTCC/GTMS/Hermetic Packaging (focus on Glass to Metal Seal is highly preferred)
- Experience in the HI-Rel/MIL/Aerospace/Space markets highly desired
- 2+ years’ experience in a customer-facing role a plus
Skills required
- Computer – MS Office, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, ERP system aptitude.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
