Summary: The Quality Operations Manager is responsible for directing the daily activities of the VAS team, including labor scheduling, supervision, proper utilization of space, equipment, and manpower. The Quality Operations Manager is responsible for all aspects of quality daily to ensure the integrity of the product being shipped meets or exceeds the customer's expectations. The position follows the Carlsbad's Quality Department QSIs for its functionally and quality Projects.

Salary range:$85,000 to $95,000, depending on experience.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Direct all operational aspects of assigned VAS departments & processes
  • Collaborate with other management staff to ensure effective communication and cooperation across all levels of the organization
  • Plan, monitor, and manage actual performance against operational portions of the budget; this includes, but is not limited to, proper management of departmental staffing levels and overtime
  • Assure the attainment of VAS operational goals & objectives for assigned departments & processes through direction of staff & management of processes
  • Support and maintain the attainment of VAS operational goals & objectives for all departments & processes through collaboration
  • Lead, coach, mentor, and develop supervisory staff and associates on job functions/procedures to achieve business objectives including process accuracy and personnel productivity
  • Review procedures and work instructions to ensure the adequate quality checks are in place to meet or exceed customer expectations
  • Maintain the "Control Documents" binder for the site
  • Verify the employees have been trained on new or updated controlled procedures and work instructions
  • Lead the internal or external audits of the site
  • Lead the CAPA process for the site
  • Coordinate of nonconforming products processing and logs for the site (including RMA / RPA related activities)
  • Work as a key member of Value Added Services team to deliver the highest level of a quality product to meet and/or exceed the customer expectations
  • Manage the product "rework" process by making sure that "quality tests/controls" (if any) are performed properly, the employee related training records are maintained, the reworked materials are correctly released, and the record of quality controls are properly saved
  • Report the status of quality projects to concerned parties, and immediately report production quality issues to the management
  • Implements and maintains department policies and standards
  • Project based assignments as requested


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience with a bachelor's or 3 years with a Master's degree plus 5 years of lead/supervisory experience.
  • 5 years minimum experience in the field, prior experience as a lead in an ISO certified (ISO 9001 or ISO 13485) manufacturing operations.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proven track record of effective management of people, processes, and projects is required.
  • Extensive Manhattan SCALE and NetSuite knowledge are a plus.
  • Familiarity with general WMS setup & configurations, such as pick priorities, user permissions, and work grouping are a plus.
  • Strong written communication and verbal skills.
  • Proven ability to multi-task, set project priorities, establish department/discipline goals and objectives for self and staff.
  • Computer literacy required; including advanced skills in Microsoft applications (i.e. Excel, Word, PPT, etc.).
  • Previous experience managing and leading a team.
