Summary: As an Electronics Design Engineer, you will be designing new products as part of a multi-functional team. You may be responsible for leading projects, driving high quality designs, and ensuring effective production implementation. You may be developing product specifications, architecture, schematic capture, layout, library management, and some testing and production support depending on your skills. You should have excellent Altium and mixed signal electronics design skills, motor driver experience is highly desired. Energetic, hands on, organized and detail-oriented engineer with the ability to work under a minimum direct supervision. Strong communication skills and experience in a multifunctional team. Eager to grow skills and to design real products to be proud of.

Salary is $110,000 to $140,000 depending on experience.

Location: Carlsbad, CA (preferred), or Kent, WA - Hybrid work possible at times depending on project requirements.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Mixed signal electronics, digital radios and RF layout, embedded hardware design.
  • Design of medium-power motor drivers 50V/50A BLDC and brushed DC.
  • Experience coordinating with other groups including third party design consultants, Test Engineering, firmware, Supply Chain, and Operations.
  • Schematic capture, part creation, and layout of electronic circuits in Altium.
  • Design low power, solar powered and battery backed systems.
  • Altium library and component management with Arena PLM.
  • Focus on design for reliability in harsh environments, design for manufacturability, and cost-conscious designs.
  • Strong collaboration with ID, ME, FE and PMs during design and development process to enhance the final product. Contribute to constructive design review and feedback processes.
  • Manage build, bring-up and test of new designs, work with test engineers to create and execute test plans.
  • Collaborate with test/quality engineers as they design and build custom bed of nails ATE.
  • Debugging and diagnostics of field returns on newly introduced products.
  • Effectively manage your time to accomplish goals despite competing project interests and changing priorities.
  • Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years' relevant experience in Electrical engineering.
  • Good Altium experience required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of PCB manufacturing, PCBA, and quality: DRC, gerbers, DFM.
  • Experience with and understanding of motor control systems and simulations.
  • Excellent lab equipment skills: Oscilloscope, DMM, logic analyzer, spectrum analyzer, hand soldering.
  • Proven analytical design approach.
  • RF and EMC/EMI design skills and experience.
  • Software; Primary: Altium Suite, MS Office, SPICE tools. Secondary: Arena, NetSuite.
  • UL991 and IPC Class 2 knowledge preferred.
  • Positive attitude, self-motivated and eager to succeed.
