Senior Application Support Analyst - Halifax - Equity Derivatives
What is the Opportunity?
You will be supporting the Sophis application for the equity derivatives business. This is a critical application which is used for life cycle management of trades from trade feed to PnL and risk management and settlement. You will be supporting front office, middle office (trade support / finance), and back office (operations) daily to ensure business functions run smoothly.
You will be responsible for maintaining stability and availability of the application, as well as continuous software releases to add features and enhancements. You will be orchestrating software releases which occur after hours on weekdays (primarily Fridays). You will be in an on-call weekend rotation that includes issue resolution/triaging and infrastructure maintenance. In addition, you will be responsible for overseeing the integrity of the data quality derived from our official EOD Market Data and positions which are priced by our Model Library.
What will you do?
Quickly address issues pertaining to front office, middle office and back office that impact the business’ ability to perform daily functions.
Drive improved stability and higher quality of data delivered to front office, middle office and back office.
Contribute and improve the configuration of our monitoring platform ITRS, while actioning triggered events.
Document new issues that occur and maintain/enhance existing documentation to ensure consistent steps performed for known issues.
Coordinate between several groups to remediate issues (Support, Development, Analytics, Quants).
Investigate pricing failures and resolve issues utilizing various skills including SQL, Unix, Windows.
Develop scripts to automate processes using Powershell and other scripting languages.
Engage in platform related projects which include vulnerability remediation, business continuity practice and automation of day-to-day tasks.
Perform change and release practices to deploy proprietary and vendor based software.
Weekend checkouts on rotation will be required to ensure stable start of week.
Rotation of shift schedules might require late shift (10-7 PM EST).
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have:
3+ years’ experience supporting applications on equity derivatives or similar business.
SQL language (3 years, Oracle preferred)
Python scripting experience (1-2 years)
Monitoring experience of high availability trading applications, batch processing or similar.
Job Scheduler experience (i.e. BMC Control-M, Autosys, Cron, etc.)
Windows Server (3 years)
Linux experience (3 years)
Nice-to-have:
ITRS Geneos Monitoring Software
Experience supporting risk management and analytics applications / infrastructure
Kubernetes / Docker experience
GRID / Datasynapse
