Global Functions Technology (GFT) is part of RBC’s Technology and Operations division. GFT’s impact is far-reaching as we collaborate with partners from across the company to deliver innovative and transformative IT solutions. Our clients represent Risk, Finance, HR, CAO, Audit, Legal, Compliance, Financial Crime, Capital Markets, Personal and Commercial Banking and Wealth Management. We also lead the development of digital tools and platforms to enhance collaboration.
What is the opportunity?
As a Senior Software Developer, you will support the HR Incentive Compensation Technology team as a software developer working in operations. You will execute tools to generate reports, perform debugging of system issues, and recommend and implement system optimizations. You will work closely with other developers and analysts to troubleshoot issues and develop new features.
What will you do?
Implement new features as requested by the client, perform unit testing, and deploy to different environments.
Develop DevOps processes for automated deployments.
Write automation scripts for unit testing.
Execute infrastructure upgrades including but not limited to operating system updates and database version upgrades.
Generate reports using Microsoft.NET (C#) and SQL Server technology.
Participate in Microsoft Azure implementations.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
Bachelor’s degree or College certificate in an information technology-related discipline with 4+ years of experience as a software developer in C#.NET in both Microsoft.NET Core and traditional ASP.NET.
3+ years of SQL Server experience, including but not limited to upgrading SQL Server, modifying tables, views, optimizing indexes and writing stored procedures.
Experience developing applications in Microsoft Azure, implementing processes on, including but not limited to development, testing, infrastructure.
Experience building DevOps pipelines in both virtual machine environments, and in Azure.
Extensive Windows operating system knowledge, including but not limited to IIS configuration (including SSL certificate installation), process automation, Active Directory.
Experience creating test plans, writing and executing test cases, documenting results.
Nice-to-have
Experience using JIRA.
Mainframe skills with JCL and SYSIN on zOS.
Linux experience.
Oracle experience.
