Job Description Title: Maintenance Technician
Location: West Columbia, SC
Shifts: 1st, 2nd and 3rd
Pay Rate: $29-$35/hr
As our next skilled Maintenance Technician, you will be at the heart of our operations, ensuring our equipment and facilities are running at peak performance. You'll troubleshoot and repair complex systems, including PLCs, electronics, pneumatics, and machining, while having opportunities to apply your technical expertise in preventive maintenance, overhauls, fabrication, programming, and installations. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform technical repairs on complex electronic, mechanical, and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
- Troubleshoot, repair, fabricate, and install electronic systems, including mechanical and electronic interfaces.
- Install, program, and maintain electric, pneumatic, and electronic control systems, along with performance measurement systems.
- Assist production workers in diagnosing equipment malfunctions.
- Conduct major equipment overhauls and perform tests after repairs or extended downtimes.
- Operate general machinery (saws, drills, power tools, scissor lifts, forklifts, etc.) while following a production schedule.
- Maintain and update records using a Maintenance Management System and communicate effectively using computer systems.
- Ensure all work complies with GMPs, safety, and quality assurance programs, as well as government regulations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including equipment cleaning and general housekeeping.
- Collaborate with production teams to minimize disruptions to schedules and operations.
- Escort contractors on site during scheduled visits.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma with a minimum of 4 years of experience in instrumentation, control systems, electronics, or mechanical/electrical industrial machinery OR 6 years of equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in three or more of the following: refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, or food manufacturing process controls.
- Solid knowledge of equipment set-up, operation, and preventative maintenance.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize, and plan activities.
- Must be 18 years or older.
