UTS-Temporary Purchasing Officer at UNC Chapel Hill The Carolina Union Student Organization (CUSO) Purchasing Officer will join the Carolina Union Business and Finance team, which provides vital financial and business services for the Carolina Union and its student organizations. This role is essential in supporting student organizations by managing and recording day-to-day financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring student groups operate within their allocated budgets. The Purchasing Officer serves as a resource for CUSO, ensuring compliance with financial policies and assisting student organizations in navigating financial processes. Note: This role is 100% on site. About Carolina Union The Carolina Union creates safe, inclusive, and educational experiences that enable students to maximize their time at Carolina. Through its programs, services, and facilities, the Union provides students with opportunities to engage in meaningful interactions and learning experiences. The Union is supported by 44 full-time staff and over 185 student employees, serving as a unifying force on campus. Position Information Work Schedule Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm, 40 hours per week. Requirements and Preferences Minimum Qualifications: Associate’s degree in a field related to accounting or business, plus at least one year of experience in purchasing, bookkeeping, or reconciling. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including experience with vLookups and pivot tables. Proficiency in providing exceptional customer service to all Carolina Union stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: Facilitate and manage daily financial transactions for student organizations. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all transactions. Monitor budgets to ensure student organizations stay within allocated amounts. Provide guidance and support to student organizations on financial policies and procedures. Collaborate with the Carolina Union Business and Finance team to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.
