Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join a dynamic team in the manufacturing apparel industry. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing the full accounts payable cycle, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, and maintaining strong relationships with vendors. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of the unique financial needs and challenges within the apparel manufacturing sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process and manage accounts payable transactions, including the coding, entering, and reconciling of invoicesn
  • Match purchase orders with invoices and ensure accuracy in pricing, quantities, and termsn
  • Prepare and execute payments via checks, ACH, or wire transfers in a timely mannern
  • Handle vendor inquiries and resolve any discrepancies related to invoices or paymentsn
  • Assist with month-end closing activities, including the reconciliation of AP sub-ledger to the general ledgern
  • Maintain and organize financial documents and records for audit purposesn
  • Collaborate with internal departments, such as procurement and inventory, to ensure proper documentation and approval of expensesn
  • Monitor and report on key metrics related to accounts payable, such as aging reports and cash flow projectionsn
  • Support the finance team with special projects and process improvements as neededn

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in accounts payable, with a focus on manufacturing and/or apparel industryn
  • Strong understanding of the manufacturing process and its impact on accounts payablen
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (experience with (insert specific software) is a plus)n
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skillsn
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environmentn
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with vendors and colleaguesn
  • Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and data analysisn
  • Knowledge of GAAP and accounting best practicesn
