Position Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Sommelier to join the Erba team. This is an hourly position with the opportunity to earn tips. The ideal candidate will have a deep appreciation for wine, a strong understanding of Italian and global wine regions, and a desire to share that knowledge with guests and staff alike.

Key Responsibilities:

• Wine Sales: Actively engage with guests to recommend and upsell wines that complement their dining experience.
• Ordering and Inventory Management: Collaborate with management to manage wine ordering, inventory levels, and proper storage.
• Curating the Wine List: Assist in curating and updating the wine list, ensuring it reflects Erba’s commitment to quality and variety, with an emphasis on Italian wines.
• Staff Education: Conduct regular training sessions for the service team to enhance their wine knowledge and confidence in making recommendations.
• Guest Interaction: Deliver an elevated guest experience by answering questions, sharing stories about wines, and creating memorable moments for our patrons.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a sommelier or wine-focused role in a fine dining or upscale casual restaurant.
• Strong knowledge of Italian wines, wine regions, and food pairings; WSET certification or similar is a plus.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Enthusiastic, team-oriented, and committed to providing exceptional service.
