Position Overview:
The Transportation Coordinator is responsible for organizing and overseeing the efficient movement of goods and personnel. This role involves planning schedules, managing logistics, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule and coordinate transportation activities, including pickups, deliveries, and route optimization.
- Communicate with drivers, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
- Monitor shipments and update customers on the status of deliveries.
- Maintain accurate records of transportation activities, including schedules, mileage, and compliance documents.
- Ensure all transportation activities comply with company policies, safety regulations, and government standards.
- Address and resolve any transportation-related issues or delays promptly.
- Assist in budgeting and cost management for transportation operations.
- Analyze logistics data to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is a plus.
- Experience in transportation coordination, logistics, or a similar role.
- Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
