Airswift has been tasked by one of our major clients to seek a Directional Driller to join them on a 6-month contract to work in the Oil Wells that are in Calgary, AB.
The Drilling and Measurements (D&M) Specialist - Directional Driller (DD) is responsible for maintaining safe, efficient, and reliable PSD for Customers. The D&M Specialist/Directional Driller identifies opportunities to improve service delivery, implements standard work, and manages risk during service delivery.
Responsibilities
The Drilling and Measurements (D&M) Specialist - Directional Driller (DD) is integral to providing safe, efficient, and reliable service to customers. This role encompasses a variety of responsibilities aimed at enhancing service quality and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Ensure job deliverables are accurate, completed on time, and meet customer expectations.
- Execute service delivery effectively while identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Participate in job risk analysis and contribute to continual improvement initiatives.
- Develop and maintain customer contacts to promote company products and services.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards by implementing the Competency Assurance Tool (CAT), conducting self-assessments, and performing wellsite inspections.
- Attend Service Quality Meetings with customers to assess performance and implement action plans for enhancement.
- Engage in Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) and Quality initiatives to foster a safe working environment.
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and strictly adhere to HSE policies.
- Maintain up-to-date safety training requirements.
Experience and Competencies:
- A minimum of a 2-year college diploma in a technical field, or a high school diploma with equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years of experience as a Directional Driller is mandatory.
- Experience in western Canada is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with Schlumberger drilling and measurements tools and acquisition software is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with industry-related software.
- Candidates must have the legal right to work and reside in Canada without sponsorship.
- Overall scope of work and skillset remains consistent with previously posted Directional Driller roles.
- Rotation schedule is approximately 21 days on, 7 days off.
- Candidates must have their own truck for transportation.
