The Opportunity:
Our client, a global leader in recycling is looking for a Regional Vice President Operations. In this role you will oversee and drive operational excellence across their Eastern Canadian division, ensuring that facilities meet or exceed goals in gross revenue, profit contribution, safety, quality, and efficiency. You will play a critical role in strategic planning, talent development, and customer satisfaction while fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Develop and execute facility-level plans for capital investments, human resources, and operational enhancements in alignment with divisional goals.
- Ensure world-class reconditioning and manufacturing capabilities through investment in new technologies, process improvements, and facility expansions.
- Direct supply and demand planning, forecasting, and budgeting, partnering with Sales and Product Management to balance customer service with inventory optimization.
- Review production and operations regularly, working with plant managers to resolve issues, control costs, and prevent delays.
- Collaborate with Human Resources to attract, retain, and develop talent, ensuring succession planning and a positive workplace culture.
- Promote safety programs, oversee regulatory compliance, and maintain environmental reporting requirements.
- Oversee facility P&L statements, ensuring adherence to budget goals and cost efficiency.
- Lead cross-functional meetings and collaborate with Sales, Logistics, and Customer Service teams to resolve customer issues and optimize raw material flow.
- Work with engineering teams to address equipment challenges, implement automation, and integrate new processes.
- Support due diligence for acquisitions and integrate new products or capabilities into operations.
- Develop plant managers and foster an organizational culture that emphasizes professional growth and employee engagement.
What You’ll Need to Be Successful:
- 15+ years of demonstrated manufacturing leadership experience, including 10+ years in management roles.
- Expertise in continuous process environments, operational efficiency, and Lean methodologies.
- Strong financial acumen, including P&L management, capital allocation, and cost analysis.
- Experience with start-up operations and new facility launches.
- Exceptional collaboration and communication skills across diverse functions, including Finance, Sales, Procurement, and Logistics.
- Proven ability to develop talent, foster positive employee relations, and create a culture of engagement.
- Strong problem-solving, strategic thinking, and decision-making abilities.
- Experience with customer-facing roles and commercial responsibilities.
- A high-energy, positive attitude, and the ability to work effectively across geographic and cultural boundaries.
