The Opportunity:

Our client, a designer and manufacturer of steel hardware for the energy sector is growing and looking for a Product Development Engineer to join their team.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Responsible for managing technical projects to completion in a timely and cost-effective manner.
• Responsible for detail design and development of products and processes within defined objectives.
• Performing calculations and layouts required to achieve final design drawings.
• Maintenance of existing product designs including reviews for improvements or cost reductions.
• Review and approve work by others in the technical team under the direction of the Product Engineering Manager.

What You'll Need to Be Successful:

• Experience in mechanical design of products, materials properties and selection, stress analysis.
• 4+ Years experience managing technical projects from concept to production.
• Experience with, and ability to read technical specifications, industry standards and manufacturing documentation.
• Production of accurate, clear detail and assembly drawings using AutoCAD & SolidWorks in compliance with drafting standards.
• Experience with various manufacturing processes, their advantages and limitations including hot work, stamping, machining, heat treatment and finishing.
• Experience with mechanical testing equipment, methods and knowledge of ISO9001 Quality System.
• Experience in building cost estimates for manufactured products..
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
