Contract to Permanent Hire

Hays Specialist Recruitment has partnered with a property management organization in North Vancouver, BC. This client is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Supervisor to join their team for a 6-month contract with the intention of becoming permanent . This is a full-time position, Monday-Friday. You will be working fully on site and working in a team setting reporting to the property manager.


Your new role

The Maintenance Supervisor oversees maintenance of a commercial site, which includes contractor liaising, and administrative duties related to management. General duties include (but are not limited to):

  • Perform all building maintenance tasks, or delegate to maintenance team members
  • Liaising with various departments on onsite programming and events.
  • Tend to minor carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical, drywall, door, general building repair.
  • The main point of contact for all contractors on site.
  • Supervise the day-to-day activities of the maintenance team
  • Provide monthly reports to property manager and regular updates/recommendations.
  • Ensure event setups are completed and track project status.


What you'll need to succeed

  • Minimum 2 years previous experience in a supervisory role.
  • Technical knowledge of electrical, HVAC, refrigeration, and plumbing.
  • Working knowledge of building maintenance and power and hand tools, and other technical trade-related equipment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work within a team environment
  • Ability to manage project timelines and budgets.
  • Ability to converse with tenants in a professional manner
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
