Hays has partnered with a mid-size architecture firm with over 40 years of experience in Edmonton, known for its diverse project experience who are looking for an Interior Designer. They have worked on multi-million dollar projects; Mixed-Use, Commercial Retail, Interiors, Corporate, Industrial, Seniors Housing, Government, Institutional, and Religious projects. With a fresh new perspective on architecture and a recent rebranding, the firm is passionate about taking bold moves with its design. They value the social spaces they create and are looking for like-minded individuals that can help propel the architecture industry in Edmonton and expand into BC

*This is an in-office position*



Responsibilities


  • Working with clients to determine needs and coordinate construction specific details
  • Advise client on space planning, layout and use of furnishings or equipment, interior finish selections and coordination.
  • Detailing of custom millwork pieces for construction plans and review details of technical drawings or specifications.
  • Review of shop drawings during construction for compliance with working drawings.
  • Coordinate with other professionals, such as contractors, architects, engineers, and trades.
  • Estimate project budget costs for use during Design Development and present design alternatives and solutions to client for approval.
  • Render design ideas in form of paste-ups or drawings.
  • Draw detailed or technical illustrations.
  • Use computer-aided drafting (CAD) and related software to produce construction documents.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to Junior Designer


Qualifications


  • Diploma in Interior Designer from an accredited institution
  • 4+ years of Interior Design experience.
  • You will possess proficiency in Revit, SketchUp and AutoCAD.
  • Prior experience working on a variety of projects, ideally with extensive experience in institutional design.
  • Experience of preparation of construction drawings and specifications.
  • You will be hardworking, strong attention to detail and excellent graphic communication and presentation skills



The successful candidate will receive a competitive base salary of $60K-$75K, extended health benefits, monthly travel allowance, and opportunities for growth within the company.
