Job Description

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Manufacturing Engineer to support production line activities and drive yield sustainment in a dynamic and collaborative environment. This role involves evaluating manufacturing outcomes, implementing continuous improvements, and supporting new product introductions (NPI) and manufacturing transfers.

The Manufacturing Engineer will work on production lines transitioning from a single-site operation to a split-site manufacturing process. The candidate will play a critical role in troubleshooting, problem-solving, and improving production yields across multiple locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering support to manufacturing processes, projects, and functions.
  • Evaluate production outcomes and implement continuous improvement and cost efficiency measures.
  • Investigate yield drops and trace issues to their origin, developing countermeasures to stabilize and improve processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across multiple locations, including Chandler, Lakeland, and TJ sites.
  • Troubleshoot simple electrical and mechanical systems in support of production lines.
  • Support the manufacturing transfer process, working on disassembly, cleaning, assembly, functional testing, and packaging of surgical devices.
  • Ensure smooth operations during the split-site manufacturing transfer by working closely with sending and receiving sites.
  • Maintain high-quality standards in reprocessing surgical devices, addressing issues such as damaged devices or sub-components.

Key Process Overview

  • Receiving & Identification : Devices received from hospitals are sorted by model and assessed for damage.
  • Disassembly & Cleaning : Damaged or used devices are disassembled and cleaned.
  • Assembly, Testing, & Packaging : Cleaned components are assembled, functionally tested, and packaged for sterilization at a second site.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical or Electrical).
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to analyze and improve manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, procedures, and concepts.
