Role Overview:
As a Senior Manufacturing Fixture Design Engineer, you will collaborate with R&D and Manufacturing Engineering teams to develop fixtures for transitioning complex electro-mechanical medical devices from prototype to production. This role focuses on designing, testing, and validating fixtures for assembly, inspection, and testing processes in a regulated medical device environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop production fixtures for electromechanical sub-systems.
- Perform fixture qualifications and verifications.
- Support assembly and test process development for capital equipment and disposables.
- Create fixture documentation, including requirements, design descriptions, and maintenance guides.
- Collaborate on cross-functional projects to improve processes and transfer designs to manufacturing.
- Manage engineering changes and project timelines effectively.
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of electromechanical R&D experience (5+ in medical devices).
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Robotics, or Advanced Manufacturing Engineering.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks/PDM.
- Expertise in DFM, DFA, and DFT principles.
- Hands-on experience in fixture design, validation, and verification for medical devices.
- Knowledge of Simulink (required), LabVIEW, and statistical tools like Minitab (preferred).
- Experience in design transfer and process validation.
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
