We are seeking a board-certified Ophthalmologist Chief Medical Officer to administratively oversee 7 Ophthalmology and Optometry clinics with one Ambulatory Surgical Center located in Rhode Island. Our Chief Medical Officer will also supervise and lead ~ 20 Providers, including MDs, DOs, ODs and more.
As our Chief Medical Officer, you will collaborate with the Managed Services Organization’s Executive Leadership Team, as well as the Practice Directors and Clinical Managers.
This is a part-time salaried remote position with administrative working hours expected to be 25 to 30 hours per week. Monthly travel to Rhode Island is required.
The ideal candidate must be progressive, have demonstrated leadership, knowledge of employment law, finance, and experience with Ambulatory Surgical Centers.
Responsibilities:
- Parter with Executive Leadership Team to ensure compliance
- Supervise ~25-50 Providers
- Participate in Provider meetings and all-staff meetings
- Work Cooperatively with C-Suite
- Reports to CEO
Requirements:
- Board Certified Ophthalmologist ideal
- Travel to Rhode Island at least once a month.
- Must be able to obtain license to practice in Rhode Island, within 60 days of hire.
- Finance experience preferred
- MBA preferred but not required
- Working knowledge of corporate practice of medicine law, STARK, Anti-Kickback and employment law.
- Must possess the physical, mental, and cognitive skills needed to complete essential tasks, including abilities such as learning, remembering, focusing, categorizing, and integrating information for comprehension, problem-solving, and timely decision-making and wield exceptional inter-personal communication skills with diverse populations.

Salary - This position pays $100,000 annually for Chief Medical Officer administrative duties. Additional compensation may be offered if the Chief Medical Officer practices medicine.
