Controls Design Engineer

Salary $90,000-$110,000+ DOE

Position Summary: In this role, you will be responsible for the design, programming, and implementation of control systems for industrial machinery from concept through production.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design machine control systems using existing designs and programs where possible.
• Develop component layouts that prioritize safety, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
• Program machine controllers to ensure efficient operation and safety compliance.
• Coordinate design reviews with project engineers and team members before production.
• Manage documentation, including purchase orders, approvals, and customer deliverables.
• Source competitive quotations and issue requisitions for project components.
• Collaborate with shop personnel during the build, startup, and debugging phases.
• Provide support during machine startup at customer locations and assist service teams.
• Stay updated on industry trends and recommend new technologies for integration.

Qualifications:

• Strong experience in machine controls design and programming.
• Proficiency in developing layouts and documentation.
• Excellent coordination and communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
• Ability to manage projects efficiently while meeting deadlines.
