Job Title : Project Manager / Scrum Master
Location : Hybrid (3 days/week in office in downtown Toronto, Canada)
Contract : 6-month contract to start, with potential for extension
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Project Manager / Scrum Master to join the Commercial Banking line of business for one of Canada’s Top 5 banks. This is a hybrid role that combines traditional project management with Scrum Master responsibilities, supporting a dynamic team in delivering critical initiatives. The project focuses on enhancing self-serve and assisted workflows for commercial bank account opening , utilizing an iterative waterfall approach to develop and implement new functionality.
Responsibilities
- Project Management :
- Manage project scope, schedules, resources, financials, and risks.
- Maintain and ensure the accuracy of project status reports, RAID logs, and related documentation.
- Utilize MS Project to track and manage project deliverables and timelines.
- Deliver on traditional project management disciplines with a strong attention to detail.
- Scrum Master Duties :
- Facilitate the adoption of Agile principles and best practices for a newly formed team.
- Manage a shared product backlog across multiple teams in a team-of-teams approach.
- Conduct standard Scrum ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and reviews.
- Utilize JIRA and Confluence to support Agile practices and collaboration.
Qualifications
- 5–8 years of experience in project management.
- 4–6 years of experience as a Scrum Master, with expertise in Agile methodologies.
- Strong understanding of both traditional project management and Agile frameworks.
- Proficiency in MS Project, JIRA, and Confluence.
- Certifications: PMP preferred, CSM required.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Consulting experience is a plus.
