Job Description

The Information Technology Specialist is responsible for the support, administration, reliability, and performance of the organization’s technical network architecture, servers, workstations, peripherals, and data communications. This role includes maintaining legacy software critical to business operations and serving as a liaison between the organization, corporate IT, and external consultants/vendors.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, recommend, and test network system enhancements (hardware/software) for efficiency, reliability, and compatibility with existing systems.
  • Serve as the primary contact for network security and integrity, acting as a local IT Cybersecurity resource while collaborating with the corporate security team.
  • Act as the primary interface with corporate IT, management, users, technical consultants, and vendors to ensure system operability, resolve issues, and recommend suitable hardware/software solutions. Conduct comprehensive testing before production deployments.
  • Lead projects for corporate initiatives to ensure the compatibility and functionality of mission-critical hardware and software systems.
  • Provide technical support for client Help Desk and resolve system-related issues (communications, hardware, software).
  • Ensure software vendor license compliance and adherence to corporate IT standards.


Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or equivalent from a four-year college or technical school.
  • Four to six years of experience in system administration and project lead roles, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Experience with network administration, system monitoring, and network architecture, including configuration, installation, and support for routers, firewalls, and virtual environments.
  • Familiarity with network security practices and tools.
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written) and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in analyzing and interpreting technical information and providing effective solutions.

Technical Proficiencies

  • Installation and update of network software.
  • Experience in managing network servers, virtual environments, and data security.
