A leading producer of building material products is seeking a Regional (Sr.) Project Engineer to assist in covering 16 manufacturing plants (11 in TX ,2 in OK, 1 in KS, & 2 in MO).

We are looking for a degreed mechanical engineer (or related degree) with a minimum of 3 years of plant maintenance/ manufacturing experience. Preference that this individual be located in Dallas or Houston, TX. Great growth opportunity within this multi-billion-dollar company. Position will require about 50% travel.

This engineer will provide engineering, maintenance, process improvement, capital project management services and technical expertise to new and existing manufacturing operations. Position reports to a VP Operations, with a dotted line to the Corporate VP Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Providing process and design recommendations
• Develop project scopes and capital budgets.
• Generate engineering design, bid specifications and schedules.
• Oversee budget review and forecasting.
• Provide project planning and project implementation to improve operating and/or cost efficiency.
• Participate in safety and environmental regulatory compliance.
• Work with each plant to make maintenance and process improvements to the existing equipment and practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
• 3+ years of engineering experience, preferably in a manufacturing or plant environment
• Ability to multi-task, work independently, and meet deadlines
• Self-motivated to find issues and resolve them timely
• Organized, detail-oriented, and with strong analytical skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Capital project accounting
• Drafting / CAD
• Electrical and mechanical maintenance
• Specification writing
• Safety, governmental compliance and environmental compliance.
