About the Role
The Company is seeking a General Counsel to join its executive leadership team. The successful candidate will be a strategic partner to the CEO and the Board of Directors, playing a pivotal role in the legal, regulatory, and compliance aspects of the business. This includes developing and executing legal strategies to support the company's growth, overseeing regulatory compliance with agencies such as the FDA and USDA, and leading government affairs to advocate for policies that benefit the cultivated meat industry. The General Counsel will also be responsible for corporate governance, risk management, contract management, and protecting the company's intellectual property assets.Applicants for the General Counsel position at the company should have a Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school, with at least 15 years of legal experience, including a minimum of 5 years in a senior legal leadership role within a high-growth, transformative industry. A proven track record in regulatory affairs, particularly with FDA and USDA compliance, is essential. The role requires deep experience in corporate governance, contract negotiation, and intellectual property protection, as well as strong leadership skills and the ability to influence at all levels of the organization. The ideal candidate will be passionate about the company's mission to transform the food system and bring sustainable, humane meat to tables worldwide.
