About the Role
The Company is seeking a General Counsel to oversee its labor relations and provide legal guidance on a wide range of business matters. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day labor relations issues, including disciplinary actions, grievances, and mediations, in alignment with the organization's overall labor relations strategy. This role also involves active participation in collective bargaining agreement administration, labor negotiations, and ensuring compliance with labor and employment best practices. The General Counsel will be a key partner to operational management, HR, and legal teams, and will be expected to maintain positive team member relations at all levels.Applicants for the General Counsel position at the company should have a law degree from an ABA-accredited law school, be licensed to practice law, and have at least 10 years' experience in labor relations, with a strong command of the Railway Labor Act. The role requires a deep understanding of all aspects of labor relations, including collective bargaining, union organizing, and contract administration. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of legal practice, with a focus on commercial contracts and general corporate transactional matters. Strong communication, analytical, and leadership skills are essential, as is the ability to work collaboratively and influence others. The General Counsel will also be involved in providing legal support for commercial contracts, ensuring compliance with data privacy laws, and driving continuous improvement in legal processes and policies.
