About the Role

The Company is seeking an Area Chief of Staff to lead, develop, and manage associate veterinarians in their hospitals. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the company can attract, develop, engage, and retain doctors who deliver quality care and meet expected hospital performance measures. This pivotal role involves driving a culture of quality and safety, performing regular hospital visits and quality audits, and developing and coaching associate veterinarians on the technical and functional skills necessary for success. The Area Chief of Staff will also be instrumental in driving the growth of the doctor team, including recruiting, onboarding, and training new veterinarians, as well as leading efforts to reduce turnover and support the engagement and retention of the veterinary team.Applicants must have a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree, a veterinary license in good standing, and a minimum of 3 years experience in small animal medicine and surgery practice. The role requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to manage and measure work, and a commitment to the five principles of the company. The ideal candidate will be a champion for quality, with a proven ability to perform basic surgeries and a commitment to continual learning. Attitudes such as initiative, integrity, cooperativeness, flexibility, and a tolerance for stress are also essential for this demanding yet rewarding position.
