About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Vice President, Chief Legal Officer (CLO) to lead and oversee all legal, compliance, and privacy functions. The CLO will be the primary legal advisor to the CEO, senior management team, Board of Trustees, and the hospitals, and will be responsible for a wide range of legal matters, including major contracts and transactions, regulatory compliance, privacy, tax-exempt status, finance, litigation, research and intellectual property, health IT policy, labor and employment issues, and outside counsel management. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 15 years of legal experience, with a significant background in healthcare law, and will be expected to manage a team of attorneys and legal professionals.Applicants for the CLO position at the company should have a minimum of 15 years' of legal experience, with a strong focus on healthcare law, including business operations, physician contracting, privacy, and regulatory compliance. The role requires an excellent understanding of federal and state laws governing not-for-profit healthcare services, as well as management experience and a background in representing hospitals or health systems. Experience with health plans and managed care is preferred. The CLO will be a key member of the senior leadership team, and as such, must be adept at leading and managing a team, and be prepared to take on the challenges of a dynamic and complex legal environment in the healthcare industry.
