About the Role
The Company is seeking a Managing Director to lead its dynamic and growing community of researchers, faculty, staff, and students. The successful candidate will serve as the senior administrator, overseeing the strategic planning, process development, and management of technical and administrative staff to support the organization's mission in astrophysics and cosmology. This role is pivotal in supervising grant programs, training and fellowship initiatives, and public engagement activities, as well as in financial planning, reporting, and administration. The Managing Director will be a key participant in the development and implementation of strategic goals and will be expected to bring a proactive, problem-solving approach to ensure the community can meet its ambitious objectives.Applicants for the Managing Director position at the company should have an advanced degree and at least eight years of relevant experience, with a PhD in a related field strongly preferred. The role requires a leader with a detailed understanding of business and technical knowledge, exceptional consensus-building skills, and the ability to work effectively in a diverse environment. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing and developing staff, as well as in leading complex scientific or technical research projects. Responsibilities also include serving as the principal administrative liaison and representing the organization's interests with various internal and external stakeholders. The Managing Director will be expected to make strategic decisions, develop policies, and ensure the success of the community's programs through the implementation of quality control standards and the adoption of emerging technologies.
