This prestigious role is integral to the financial health and operational success of the resort. The Director of Finance will oversee all financial operations, drive strategic planning, and collaborate with senior leadership to ensure the resort achieves its financial objectives while maintaining its reputation for excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Strategy and Planning:
- Develop and execute comprehensive financial strategies to support the resort’s long-term goals.
- Provide financial insights to senior leadership to guide decision-making and improve profitability.
- Oversee the preparation of detailed budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
Financial Operations Oversight:
- Manage all financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and cash flow management.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards (GAAP), and adherence to internal controls.
- Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to safeguard the resort’s assets.
Team Leadership and Collaboration:
- Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial alignment with operational goals.
- Partner with external auditors, banks, and regulatory bodies as needed.
Cost Control and Revenue Optimization:
- Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying opportunities for cost savings and revenue growth.
- Implement financial controls to manage operating expenses while maintaining the highest service standards.
- Drive initiatives to optimize profitability across all resort operations, including F&B, accommodations, and events.
Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, tax laws, and reporting requirements.
- Mitigate financial risks by implementing and monitoring robust internal controls and risk management strategies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
- Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive financial management experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role in the luxury hospitality industry.
- Strong knowledge of hotel finance operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost management.
- Expertise in financial systems and software (e.g., Opera, Oracle, SAP).
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Ability to communicate financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders effectively.
- Comprehensive understanding of GAAP and Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging Industry (USALI).
