We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Regional Director to lead our San Diego-based team. The Regional Director will be responsible for managing office/program personnel, financial outcomes, and ensuring projects are delivered on-time and within budget. Responsibilities:
- Lead a regional team in the execution of projects and programs, including project management, engineering disciplines (mechanical, electrical, civil, structural, and process), and design/drafting functions.
- Report on office performance to senior leadership, providing updates on activities, progress, and addressing deviations from projections proactively.
- Oversee local safety and quality programs, ensuring compliance with government regulations and company policies.
- Work with senior leadership to maintain appropriate staffing levels, participating in resource allocation meetings.
- Manage client relationships, including contracts, project oversight, and identifying new business opportunities.
- Actively network and engage in business development to maintain and expand client base.
- Develop regional strategies for fostering relationships with new clients and expanding business opportunities.
- Utilize local and company-wide resources to execute regional projects effectively.
- Collaborate with other regional leads and senior leadership to leverage expertise and relationships.
- Develop and implement employee training plans within the region.
- Maintain a work environment conducive to maximizing employee potential and efficiency.
- Conduct office-wide updates to ensure team alignment and communication.
- Lead the local management team and approve regional purchase orders.
- Oversee seconded personnel contracts, budgets, accruals, and invoicing.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience, including 5+ years of utility-related experience.
- At least 5 years of project management experience.
- PMP certification preferred (or required within one year of start).
- Knowledge of energy markets and clients in Southern California.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer is preferred.
- Experience managing large, multidisciplinary teams in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
