Job Description

We are seeking a Project Engineer who will be instrumental in supporting our engineering and management project team. The main responsibilities include coordinating with team members, processing documents, maintaining key project management tools, and providing various support functions to ensure the successful execution of projects within our utility and industrial projects. The project engineer supports all phases of project execution from front end studies through project completion.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Support the engineering managers coordination and review of our subcontractors tasks, identifying design issues, and monitoring progress of all process deliverables and activities and ensure that reports, plans and other deliverables are compliant with all project contract documents and requirements.
  • Facilitate communication and alignment across the project team, including engineers, managers, and external stakeholders.
  • Support the management and processing of project-related documents.
  • Maintain and update key project management tools, such as, project schedules, and task lists.
  • Assist in various support functions, including scheduling meetings, preparing detailed project reports, and tracking progress.
  • Ensure that project deliverables meet quality standards
  • Identify potential issues within projects and work proactively with the team to develop and implement effective solutions.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of project management processes and tools, with a focus on enhancing efficiency.
  • Provide technical support for utility and industrial projects as required.
  • Ensure that reports, plans and other deliverables meet the project requirements. When necessary maintain client provided standards on deliverables.
  • Participate in Client coordination meetings.


QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  1. Minimum 8 years of engineering experience in the utility or industrial industry with a track record of achievement on large complex projects
  2. Strong technical background in the installation of large utility projects
  3. Ability to collaborate with project team members and client entities, demonstrating the leadership capabilities to insure a successful project
  4. Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  6. Proficiency in project management tools.
  7. P.E. license is not required, but preferred


TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Position is based in PPG’s Paramus NJ office. Travel to subcontractor’s office(s) and construction site on a regular basis is expected as needed through project execution. Up to 10% travel.
