The Boppy Company, a pioneer in baby products that support families during the first years of a baby’s life, is looking for a Sales Director to drive profitable growth and sales ensuring the success of our sales team. This role includes leading, growing, and planning sales growth across all omnichannel retail channels, including B&M. This position has 3 direct reports. The Sales Director will be responsible for managing forecasts, developing strategic sales initiatives across key customers. This position is instrumental in achieving our growth targets and is expected to develop strategic, long-term business relationship with retailer buyers, planners and other key decision-makers by understanding customer business strategies and providing consultative services that increase the value of the customer’s business with Boppy. Comfort with working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment is a must. This position reports to the VP of Commerce. Travel may be required 25% of the time. This position has up to 3+ direct reports.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Profitable Revenue Growth:
· Lead and manage the sales team to achieve and exceed sales targets and objectives, while managing balanced sales growth, continued account penetration and customer satisfaction mindful of corporate P&L
· Create and sell complex business solutions, minding Boppy’s brand identity and financial goals
· Create, influence and maintain relationships with horizontal and vertical account management, inclusive of top decision-makers
· Develop and manage customer budget
· Sell the entire Boppy® product line as well as assisting in the development of new products
· Conduct product and account analyses, utilizing both qualitative and quantitative data and developing the marketing plan based on this data
· Collaborate with the marketing, product development, and operations teams to ensure cohesive and integrated sales strategies
· Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to inform strategic decisions
· Oversee the sales budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources to maximize KPIs and growth goals
· Monitor and manage the forecast for the sales department, ensuring profitability and cost-effectiveness
· Prepare and present regular financial and performance reports to the executive team
· Work within a team-based sales environment to cultivate strong collaborative relationships with team members
· Manage vendors, agencies and provide strategic direction throughout the year
· Manage and mentor a team of three sales professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture
· Provide regular feedback, coaching, and professional development opportunities for the sales team
· Conduct annual performance reviews and set clear, measurable goals for team members
· Manage relationships with contracted external agencies (i.e., MAP monitoring software)
· Performs other responsibilities and special projects as assigned by supervisor
Leadership:
· Guide and manage the sales team to achieve and exceed sales targets and objectives, while managing balanced sales growth, continued account penetration and customer satisfaction mindful of corporate P&L
· Builds effective and motivates sales leaders and support teams with training, mentoring, and development programs
· Direct and supervise up to 3+ direct reports
Qualifications:
· 10-15 years experience
· Team Leadership and development
· Excellent written and oral presentation abilities; comfort in presenting to senior level executives
· Strong analytical skills--ability to analyze account opportunities, growth and profitability and develop long term strategic plans
