Position Summary
This role involves providing technical expertise and support for mechanical pipe joining systems, ensuring customer satisfaction, and addressing complex technical challenges. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering, problem-solving, and customer engagement within the mechanical systems industry.
Core Responsibilities
- Develop expertise in mechanical systems, products, and solutions, including components such as couplings, valves, and fittings.
- Utilize knowledge of commercial mechanical systems, municipal water/wastewater systems, and applicable industry codes (e.g., ASME, AWWA, API, ASTM, UL) to develop solutions for complex situations requiring independent judgment.
- Address customer inquiries regarding product features, benefits, applications, and performance.
- Provide technical and troubleshooting support via phone, email, site visits, and virtual tools.
- Conduct investigations, evaluate returned products, and create detailed root cause analysis reports for customers.
- Collaborate with sales teams and support technical applications for products across various stakeholders, including customers, specifiers, code officials, and installers.
- Act as a customer advocate by sharing field insights with internal teams to improve product development, marketing, and manufacturing processes.
- Conduct training sessions, educational seminars, and presentations for employees, customers, and sales personnel, both domestically and internationally.
- Host on-site visits and seminars to address customer-specific technical inquiries.
- Serve as a resource on industry trends, competitor products, and market developments.
- Capture and share competitive intelligence to inform strategic decisions.
- Identify opportunities for training and process improvements to enhance products, solutions, and customer education.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical systems or a similar industry.
- Proficient with mechanical systems, tools, and precision measurement equipment.
- Experience interpreting codes, standards, and specifications (e.g., ASME, AWWA, ASTM).
- Skilled in troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Experience conducting training sessions and customer consultations.
- Willing to travel domestically up to 30-40% , with occasional international travel.
- Physically capable of working in industrial environments (e.g., climbing ladders, lifting).
- Familiarity with mechanical piping applications and industry trends, ideally in the water/wastewater or similar industries.
