Required Skills & Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a similar degree program
• 2+ years experience estimating for heavy civil construction projects, with a strong understanding of cost structures and project budgeting
• Proficiency in HCSS (Heavy Construction Systems Specialist) software for construction project management and cost estimation
• Experience with AutoCAD drafting and familiarity with technical drawings, plans, and project specifications

Nice-to-Have Skills & Experience:

• 2+ years of hands-on experience in civil construction, particularly within the heavy civil space, is highly preferred

This exciting opportunity offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of complex heavy civil projects, including highways, bridges, solar farms, municipal infrastructure, and more. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost estimation and project management, and will play a pivotal role in driving projects to successful completion—on budget, on time, and in alignment with client expectations.

As part of a collaborative team of project managers, engineers, safety professionals, and construction experts, this role will provide critical support in estimating project costs, preparing bid proposals, and monitoring overall project financials. You will work on multiple concurrent projects, ensuring precise and accurate cost forecasting and effective communication across all stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cost Estimation & Proposal Preparation: Analyze project documents, plans, and specifications to create accurate and comprehensive cost estimates. Prepare and review bid proposals to ensure alignment with project scope and budget.
• Project Cost Monitoring: Actively monitor project costs, track expenditures, and identify potential cost overruns or savings opportunities, providing proactive solutions to keep projects within budget.
• Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with project managers, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of projects. Provide regular updates and insights to keep teams informed and projects on track.
• Scope Definition & Documentation Review: Thoroughly review project plans and drawings to define the scope of work, ensuring all project requirements are accounted for in cost estimates.
